May is a magical time to be in Kalbarri as we are towards the end of transitioning from hot summer days to a more temperate period with clear skies and little wind. We average a daytime temperature of 28 degrees, (overnight 18 degrees), which provides stunning weather making it a popular time for both locals and visitors alike. It’s perfect fishing weather and an ideal time for family holidays and get togethers.
The cooler weather makes May an ideal time to hike the inland gorge trails, especially the long, challenging but impressive Loop hike, which is 9km return, (approx. 4 hrs). All our tours and activities are running, (unforeseen weather permitting), which offer lots of opportunity for fun and adventure filled experiences that take advantage of our ‘best of both worlds’ landscapes along the coast and inland – and above – Kalbarri is also the perfect place to explore the night skies as we have some of the darkest night skies in the world. May is a magnificent time to explore and immerse yourself in the multitude of wonders that is Kalbarri’s nature-rich playground.
Make your first stop when visiting town the Kalbarri Visitor Centre at 70 Grey Street. Open 7 days from 9am.
